Hugues Borsarello, artistic director and solo violonist

The La Follia instrumental ensemble is comprised of 12 strings, harpsichords and percussion instruments as well as oboes, trumpets, horns or flutes, according to the repertoires.

With a repertoire dating from the 17th century through to the 21st century,  La Follia’s brilliant and light sound is highly captivating.

Bringing yesterday’s and today’s music back to life…

Through the repertoire’s classics, La Follia’s musicians aim to make the audience discover new scores written by modern musicians and rediscover forgotten works of the past.

…and bringing the greatest international performances to the smallest of towns…

La Follia’s continuous work since 1971 has led its musicians to perform at renown French venues and hold international tours in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and South America. La Follia’s musicians also aim to deliver educational value when performing.

…through a continuous endeavour to respect the authenticity of the works performed

Conducted by Hugues Borsarello, La Follia’s musicians adopt a variety of styles whilst continuing to respect the authenticity of performances - often offering works of a certain era using different styles in a concert.
